School Kitchen Assistant/Porter

Hunter Professional currently recruiting for hardworking, enthusiastic & reliable school Kitchen Assistants/ Porters of all levels.

School Kitchen Assistants play an important role in a school’s daily operation by ensuring students receive nutritious meals.

They work alongside chefs to prepare, cook, and serve meals to students, promoting healthy eating habits and supporting their overall well-being.

The successful candidate will be responsible for performing various tasks to ensure the smooth running of the kitchen.

Responsibilities:

• Assist with basic food preparation, such as chopping ingredients and preparing sauces. 
• Set up and maintain workstations and keep the kitchen clean and organized.
• Assist with dishwashing and cleaning as needed.
• Receive and store deliveries, ensuring that they are properly stored.
• Follow recipes and cooking procedures to ensure consistency and quality of dishes.
• Adhere to health and safety regulations and procedures.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Other duties as assigned by the head chef.

Requirements:

• Experience working in a kitchen environment is preferred.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
• Physical dexterity and the ability to lift heavy objects.
• Enhanced DBS Check.
• Food Hygiene Certificate Level 2.
